PA Women’s Agriculture Network Presents: Women Farmers- Ergonomics and Planning To Mitigate Risk

Sunday
June 19, 2016
5:30 pm to 8:30 pm
Pennypack Farm & Education Center 685 Mann Rd, Horsham, PA 19044

Learning to take care of your body is key in farming. The women of Green Heron Tools will show how to do just that!

Women farmers are at risk for many kinds of physical and emotional challenges that can affect the long-term financial health of their farms. Less upper body strength can cause injuries, hours of back-bending work, using tools not built for a woman’s body can all lead to stress injuries that won’t show up until later in life. Ann Adams & Liz Brensinger of Green Heron Tools will demonstrate proper ergonomic farming techniques. Patty Neiner, PA-WAgN will share resources available through USDA-FSA and Risk Management Agencies that will assist women farmers to mitigate various types of risk. Open discussion and sharing of experiences and needs throughout the event. All women farmers young to elder need this information!

Cost is $15.
