The USDA Harvest Festival celebrated its final market day of the season on Friday, October 30th. The market, located next to the USDA Building in Washington D.C. and adjacent to the “People’s Garden,” features regional producers, farm market sales, entertainment, and family- friendly activities each week. Joining in Friday’s Halloween themed festivities were American Mushroom Institute, Mushroom Council, ToJo Mushrooms, and Chester County Economic Development Council representatives.  Thanks to ToJo Mushrooms who provided fresh mushrooms for an educational display and samples of the 50/50 mushroom and meat “taco blend.” The blend was a hit and many attendees returned for seconds! Fresh packaged mushrooms were given away for free with a donation to the Capital Area Food Bank. Over $350.00 was raised as a result.
